We did not set out to build a game studio.
Chuck studied business and computer information systems. Robb and Jerry were on their own paths into software. We were professionals with steady jobs, chasing the version of success we thought we were supposed to want.
But when we really connected, it was not over code.
It was over dice.
We met through a shared love of tabletop roleplaying games, telling stories, solving problems, and building worlds together. What started as character sheets and campaign logs became a friendship, and eventually, a partnership.
For a while, we tried the safe version of independence. We started a consulting firm, took on client work, and did what we were good at.
But it did not spark anything.
We were not chasing passion, just paychecks. Eventually, we realized the thing we kept pushing to the side, the thing we always talked about doing but never made time for, was the thing we should have been doing all along.
So we stopped playing it safe.
Chuck got his MBA and leaned into the business. Robb started learning how to design and animate game-ready art. Jerry opened up Unity and began building from the ground up. None of us had shipped a game. But all of us believed in the story we were finally writing together.
We started Ever Onward Games to create something we could believe in and to show others that building games is not a mystery reserved for giant studios. It is a craft. It is a process. It is something you can grow into as long as you keep going.
Our first game is the beginning. But it will not be the end.
We are just getting started.
